Dissolution (Matthew Shardlake, #1)Dissolution by C.J. Sansom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dissolution is the first in the Matthew Shardlake series. In this book, he is a lawyer working in the service of Cromwell who is sent to investigate a murder at a large monastery during the Reformation in Tudor England. Enjoyable on many levels - well drawn characters, how he manages as a disabled man (he has a humped back), the historical elements of Cromwell's policies and of course solving the murders. I first came across Heartstone, the fifth book in the series, so now I am catching up from the beginning.
